Exploration of a new site north of the Friday Harbor Lab in Friday Harbor . Nice walk through the woods to get to a small cove just North East of the main campus (easy to find on Google maps) Good backup spot when west wind blowing on San Juan Gradual slope with a much steeper wall at 90ft Covered in life Signs of octos, giant lingcods everywhere Beautiful

Very cool! I think some call that uw wall. I got some photos of purple plumose anemones there some years ago. I think they colored them as a part of some experiment!

I think the UW wall is located slightly more south However, you are right - this entire east part of San Juan has the same depth profile with shallow 30-60ft kelp forest and later a sharper drop from 100 to 600ft Great location to look for GPOs out of their dens , sea lions and micro life
