Dive planning for Atlantic City Scow
Site Briefing
Atlantic City Scow is a dive site in Lake Washington. One of the many historical coal/timber scows sunk in the lake, probably from the late 1800s / early 1900s.
Part of the Lake Washington Mapping Project's wreck catalog documented by Coastal Sensing & Survey and DCS Films. Rests on a silty bottom in Lake Washington -- typical scow: square bow, flat sides, decayed wooden hull with metal fixtures.
Access: Boat access from the nearest ramp -- specific location depends on the individual scow.
Hazards: Silty bottom -- viz crashes when disturbed; take a compass bearing before descending. Lake Washington gets dark fast; below 30 ft light drops off sharply.
