Dive planning for Lake Chelan
Site Briefing
Deep glacial fjord lake in Eastern Washington -- there are several spots in the lake to dive, one of them is Lake Chelan Monument , which features a car wreck at roughly 110-120 ft.
Extraordinary cliff topography north from the wreck with excellent freshwater visibility (40-60 ft common). This lake reaches nearly 1,500 ft deep in the north basin.
Conditions: Advanced depth at Monument -- plan gas and drysuit for low-50s F water. Loose rock on steep slope -- avoid grabbing unstable boulders.
