We had a great snorkel in Campbell River (the river not the town). Lots of beautiful salmon! Wonderful area. We saw a bear foraging on salmon as well!
Park by the hydro plant. You need to enter on the other side of the river from the hydro plant though. It involves a steep hike up the Canyon River trail and across the bridge.
