If you haven't been to Clear Lake, you should go if you like great visibility. This lake boasts chilly, 38F waters with unlimited visibility. The visibility is easily over 100'. It is better than I've seen at Lake Crescent and BonAire. There are geologic highlights to the dive such as lavaflow, cold water springs (witch's cauldrons), and petrified douglas fir trees still upright from 3000 years ago. There are a few trout, but more shrimp type creatures on the bottom more than anything. This is a great place for diver photos as well with the visibility and the contrast between the blue water and the green algae on the bottom. Great spot and even better, there are cabins within walking distance from the entry and a small camp store as well as clean bathrooms. The lake does not allow any motorized boats, but there is fishing. This is an altitude dive, sitting at 3012' above sea level so be sure to plan accordingly fo the altitude as well as the water temperature.
