Great dive at Davidson Rock on the Butt Boat (Briston's boat) π€. When we pulled up there were about eight fishermen fishing the reef though! π£ππ£ππ’ We didn't encounter any problems with them underwater... they were all fishing over the sea cucumbers on the north side π or much deeper. Glad I used an SMB though!
It's been awhile since we've done this site and upon diving it again it seems much bigger than we remember. There are a lot of sections on this site... some a lot like skyline but others even more spectacular. The east side in about 80 ft of water was just gorgeous, it was like an Alpine meadow with lavender, pastel pinks, teal blue, yellow... all kinds of cool creatures.π·ππ¦πΈπΉπΊπ»ππ€―
One megaling was found (don't tell the fisherman). Lots of nudies, proliferating anemones, snake locks, giant pmh's, cool stuff in the water column, nice kelp in the shallows πππ
Great dive at one of the best dives in the San Juans. Saw the fields of pastel proliferating anemones, candy stripe shrimp, a bright cabezon, three lined nudies, Stimpson stars, yellowtail and Copper rockfish, and a thick field of invertebrate life on the outside wall! Thanks to Briston for taking us out!

Yelloweye rockfish at Davidson Rock. It was huge! To get this size, they're likely >100 years old! As you can see, this guy has had some scarring in those years! Photo by Eric Askilsrud.
