Two scooter dives here on the best tidal exchange of the year for San Juan channel. 8:10am entry on the first and 11:10am entry on the 2nd. Very interesting life here and different from what I was expecting. Slopes into the channel moderately. The areas of solid rock have a mixture of dark and red colonial tunicates. Big yellow nipple sponges and tennis ball sponges everywhere. Some crimson anemones. In one area had a couple funnel sponges including one the size of a basketball! A dead octo and large bait ball. Grunt sculpins and kelp greenling otherwise not much for fish. Some areas of giant barnacles with tunicates that look like Keystone. Not quite a rainbow of color like Deception or Skyline. Currents were mild and would never consider this on anything but the most ideal current conditions.
