Dive report for 7/8/25

Visibility
A silty 10-15 feet, <5 feet in the shallows (high tide)

Good visibility under 25 feet, but turns very silty half way through the dive. Larger boats docking above, judging by the noise were the culprits. Lots of Copper and Yellowtail rockfish, some Pile perch. And again, many Sunflower stars of different sizes all over the place. So good to see. Some Ochre stars wasting, so far none of the Pycnos.

Visibility
A snowy 5-10 feet, <5 feet in the shallows (high tide)

Miso soup from top to 35 feet, less than 5 feet visibility, most of the tire reef immersed in that. Opened up to ten feet below that, but made the surveying of sea stars difficult. Dozen Sunflower star, but no adults among them. Wasting still ongoing, Ochre and even couple Leather stars which in the past were spared, at least here.
