Dive report for 6/19/25

Profile Pic
Visibility
20 feet, 5-10 feet in the shallows (incoming tide)

dive was great. We had a red brotula, three horned shrimp, many red octopus, and a large stubby squid. We hung out in the 100'-120' range for our dive and enjoyed the deeper creatures. When we came up into the shallows for deco, there was a light current pushing out from shore and the loose sea lettuce and such was making it interesting to scoot around. Then as we came up, the top 4-8' were quite milky. We also had a nice baitball visit us around 50' that hung near us for a few minutes.

Visibility
A hazy 10-15 feet, 5-10 feet in the shallows

1st dive 0950, 2nd dive 1200. Mild current at depth, noticeable current pushing out from shore in the shallows. 50-53F. Vis on the 1st dive was decent between slack (15ft at depth) but got worse on the 2nd dive during low tide (10ft at depth). wasn't expecting lumpy but we found 3 lumpsuckers (2 brown, 1 yellow) in the shallows (30-50ft range). Other sightings include zebra leafslug, spotted aglajid, diamondback nudi, opalscent nudi, striped nudi, red octo, and juvenille gunnel. The wall is filled with coonstripe shrimp, no red brotula but there were 2 bigger red octo swimming around.

We had two small red brotula in the shallower parts of the wall (90-100') on thursday during my last dive there. a week and a half ago we have a larger one down at the 120' range. they were all tucked in pretty good.

Visibility
5-10 feet (low tide)

We had a consistent 8 ft of vis diving on the low slack of a minus tide. Not a bad tradeoff for shallower depths on the wall. 49-51F. Northern Ronquil and a Blackbelly Eelpout at depth. In the eelgrass, male Tubesnout sported wild colors as they went about their mating season business.

Visibility
A grimy 10-15 feet, 5 feet in the shallows (high tide)

Nice dive on the wall. Terrible visibility from the surface down to 30ft (green slime…). Consistent 10-15ft vis and mild current at 130ft. Completely dark at depth. Many octopus changing color dramatically as we approached.
