Visibility
A chunky 15-20 feet, 5-10 feet in the shallows (high tide)

1st dive 1345, 2nd dive 1545, high tide, little current, 48-50F vis: hazy 5-10ft down to 30ft or so then opens up a chucky 15-20ft six gill alert! Saw our first six gill on the 2nd dive at 86 ft. It stayed with us for a min or so and swam away, what a sight! At the wall we found 3 octos, 3 wolf eels, grunt sculpin, copper rockfish, lots of pacific prawn (both the green-ish young ones and adult)

Dive report for 5/21/26

Profile Pic
Visibility
5-10 feet, 10-15 feet in the shallows (outgoing tide)

Bigg's killer whales passed by going south as we suited up, part of the T65A pod per chatter on the Orca Network. Just another opportunity for a megafauna encounter underwater :) Two dives, the second approaching low slack on a minus tide. Above 20 ft, light penetration offset any issues with the vis. Plankton bloom seemed nearly impenetrable as we approached the bottom of the buoy line at 40 ft. Shallow wall scene was murky. Vis cleared up for the top of the deep wall at 70 ft. Still, a wolf eel with labored breathing lay out of her den here. 60 - 50F, top to bottom. One dessert plate-sized sunflower star.
