Two dives:
Dive 1: I swam over to the left near the pilings and down to pretty bad vis, only about 8 to 10 feet and hazy. So instead of trying to find bottles I just swam out into the depths to see if there was any life. There weren’t a LOT of fish, but I did see a couple of schools of Tube Snouts and a few Brown Rockfish! I also saw a LOT of Kelp and Red Rock Crabs! Not knowing the area very well I didn’t want to go anywhere that I might not want to be, so after a leisurely swim I headed shallow and did my Safety Stop where I found a LOT of Shaggy Mouse and Striped Nudibranchs, and swam in.
Dive Time: 50 minutes. Max Depth: 64 feet.
Dive 2: After my Surface Interval and lunch I went back out and this time went in the other direction, to the right, and dropped down to about 18fsw and still iffy vis. But I decided I wanted to see if there was anything out there, so off I went to find - nothing much really! There was a big concrete block around 40fsw I think that had numerous fish and crabs around it, but otherwise it was just gray bottom as far as the eye could see, with a lot of what looked like old wood all over. I’m thinking that’s probably from the old logging and wood mills that used to cover this area. Anyhow I headed back in after a while, did my Safety Stop among the Nudis, and swam in.
Dive Time: 44 minutes. Max Depth: 59 feet.
