Dive planning for Seamount
Site Briefing
Seamount is a north Hood Canal boat pinnacle that rises from ~200 ft to a peak at 20-35 ft below the surface (varies with tide); the top is roughly 100 ft x 50 ft. One of the marquee north-canal boat dives in Dabob Bay -- wolf eels, lingcod, and rockfish on a shallow offshore pinnacle.
Access: Boat access only, ~1 mile off any shoreline. Nearest ramps: Point Whitney (Bee Mill Road, tricky at low tide), Pleasant Harbor, or Seabeck.
Marine life: Wolf eels, big lingcod, vermilion / copper / quillback rockfish, giant pacific octopus, red and white sea cucumbers, dense plumose anemones, Odner's dorids.
Conditions: Site is offshore -- GPS + depth-sounder required to find the pinnacle top. Current-insensitive on most days.

Briefings may be out of date or have inaccuracies. Dive within your training and experience. The first time diving a site, join someone familiar with the site and/or start on a mild day.
