First time diving in Sekiu and this place is beautiful. So many different species of algae - absolutely gorgeous. I very much miss diving in kelp forests and this place does not disappoint if you like underwater forest bathing.

I was freediving/snorkeling and my max depth was no more than 20 feet at one descent.

Conditions were fantastic - the viz was great and pretty chill at the surface as far as water movement (wind picked up later). Had to do a little kelp crawling, but it was not bad at all. I was photographing and went with ambient light because the viz was so descent.

Spent most of my time in shallower water less than 15 feet. Lots of schooling baitfish, lots of very healthy ochre stars, a few kelp greenlings getting curious, lots of moon snails, and a sunflower star. Such a wonderful site and looking forward to coming back again.

Per recommendation, we went to Toast and Jam Pub - really, really good food. Very much recommend. We also tried By the Bay Cafe and liked that as well - I personally recommend the BLT.

Take care everyone.

Visibility
A clear 30+ feet, 10-15 feet in the shallows

Fantastic conditions today, super calm water and great viz. Site really reminded me of NorCal + SoCal diving. You know the conditions are great when visibility is limited by the amount of fish in a bait ball.
