Alki pipeline is a mostly shallow dive along a pipe on a long-flat eel grass bed. The pipe can be a bit of a challenge to follow as it is not above the sand the entire route of it. The attached bottom scan image shows the final outfall of the pipe at ~40 feet.

Take note of some landmarks along the shore, and do some sweeps and you can usually find it.

It is a long swim in the shallows, but there is a wide variety of life growing in the area.

Given the navigation challenges it is best to go here when the visibility is better.

Given its location, the site can be quite exposed to winds and current, so please research conditions before diving here.

On heavy rains there can be outfall in the pipe. It may not be the healthiest to swim near that water!

Etiquette: Please be respectful of the nearby residents if diving at night.
