After more then year, I revisited the site. Construction made it hard to plan diving there. Stars are still plentiful, but unlike before, only few Ochre stars. Mottled are the king. No wasting observed. Few Graceful crabs, no fish at all. New is healthy Eelgrass in the shallows with Hooded nudibranch . Visibility varied a lot from very good in the shallows under the wharf to bad few hundred feet away at same depth.
After eleven months, I returned to Coupeville wharf to check on sea stars there. Construction still continues, new steel piling were driven last year, still not attached to the wharf. Bad visibility is the norm here. Happy to report that Mottled stars are still her in great numbers, few Ochre. What is missing the large numbers of Graceful crabs that used to eat the mussels falling from above. I saw few of them away from the wharf.
