A dark and murky dive out to The Cathedrals and The Triumph. Through the gloom we saw copper and quillback rockfish; striped, pile and shiner perch (tons of shiner perch), lots of tubesnouts, a few white-lined dironas, a couple of leopard nudibranchs, and tons of little YOY rockfish in the eelgrass. We also saw a couple of large lingcod, of course. Highlight of the dive was a grunt sculpin out at The Triumph. 33 species on my REEF survey.

Quick fun dive... We took a few extra lbs not knowing how our trim and buoyancy would be effected by the Thanksgiving feasts. No changes to note, I hope that doesn't mean I'm like a turkey. Saw the normal crowd, water vis was good but not great. Little to no current and the weather was nice. Wish the showers still worked!

Mild current, light wind and rain this morning. Pretty hazy visibility at all depths. Good dive for practicing skills though. Crabs, nudibranchs, jellies, copper rockfish, perch, and a ling cod (spotted by my buddy, not me).

Very bad visibility. It was hard to see my buddy who was just next to me. I suspsected the rain and flooding is the reason for this.

A hazy but diveable 10-15 ft with good buddy contact. Lots of pile and striped perch feasting on loose algae floating in the current. Painted greenling, anemones, red rock crab, kelp crabs, shrimp, copper rockfish, kelp perch, sole, leather stars, giant barnacle, mottled stars, diving seabird (underwater!), harbor seal (at surface by Jetty), lemon and alabaster nudis. No lingcod. Mild to moderate current at surface and depth pulling south.

Visibility was okay - we could see pretty far for navigational purposes, but it was simultaneously pretty hazy. This was my first time diving here during the day, and we saw practically zero life other than a couple rockfish and lingcod, which is a far cry from my experiences at night, which are normally full of ratfish, lingcod, and cabezon. Will stick to nights in the future! Still a great dive, and either I’m not the most observant navigator, or Jetty Way has seen some massive upgrades in the past 6 months! Hoping it’s the latter 😄

We dove the north end of the park for the first time...out along Bashful or Erratic Way...we're not exactly sure where we were :-) Several sunken boats, piles of large pipes and boulder piles made really interesting habitat for all kinds of critters. One big Ling Cod protecting a big clutch of eggs inside a boat, lemon nudibranchs everywhere, China rockfish, kelp crabs, painted anemones. Can't wait to dive this end of the park again!

Iffy viz for my first time diving here. Significant halocline at 17-20ft, and a surprisingly strong current until you got below 25 ft. It slacked fairly quickly as low tide approached. Explored one of the E-W ropes. Lots of perch (pile, kelp, and striped), a few copper rockfish, a few lingcods (one on eggs in the broken bow of a small boat!), a bunch of lemon nudis big & small, and a few gaggles of redrock crabs. My 100th logged recreational dive!

Bit of a chop on entry, but calmer underwater. Only did a small stretch along telegraph way. About five sea lemons and then the tiniest frosty and tiniest ring spotted dorid (looked like a tiny underwater cow! So adorable!). Saw an empty shell of a Lewis' Moon Snail. Longfin sculpin sighting as well! REEF survey submitted.

Opalescent nudibranch headquarters today - MANY sightings (at least 2 dozen), ranging from adults to itty bitty babies! Few painted greenling, few lingcod (including one where its diameter was like 12" across, insane), one rock sole, one sand dab, boring sponge, few coonstripe shrimp, few sea lemons, abundant plumose, few copper rockfish.

Holy viz. Never thought Edmonds this time of year would have more than 5 feet but we could see the bottom from the surface! Just did jetty way and had the usual anemones, rock fish, few types of nudis. Huge cluster of squid eggs near the milk crate line crossing. Little after that a young wolf eel. Was looking for some big long cod but only saw one on the swim back in.

Visibility 5-10 in the shallows opening up to 10-15 at the pontoon boat around 40’. Wow! Edmonds was absolutely loaded with life today. Tons of nudibranchs - literal piles of shaggy mouse nudibranchs in particular. Rockfish of all sizes including dozens of YoYs. Many painted greenlings. One very large lingcod.

On a blustery day, Edmonds was in a relatively calm zone. We descended next to the jetty and the viz was about 2 feet, but once we got past the jetty, it opened up a little. The summer kelp is in and it's rather difficult to find the lines - particularly with the lowish viz. Lots of perch, some very colorful painted greenlings and a few big lings. There was a nice variety of nudibranchs out, but the highlight were all the opalescents. We found one rock on jetty way that was covered - about 20 of them of all sizes, including a couple that were in the 2 inch range. Very pretty. We reached the boundary line of the park and I swam a couple of feet past it and put my computer on the bottom which gave me the 34 feet max lol! On the swim back, the sun came out and even in the hazy viz, it created a nice brightness. There were some very pretty ochre stars on the jetty rocks, but you had to get up close to see them lol.

Nothing like a super low tide at Edmonds to keep you honest about bouyancy. Shockingly okay visibility in the shallows followed by your average green silty mess below 20. Strong ebb was churning things up pretty well. Lots of little critters to look at and always a fun time.
