Dive planning for Langley Harbor
Site Briefing
Langley Harbor is a dive site on South Whidbey. The bottom is littered with a collection of old tires, which were originally intended to float the harbor docks; as they became water-logged over time, many sank to rest on the sea floor.
Important Site Status & Access Notice:
- Public Closure: The site is now closed to the public due to heavy boat traffic and entanglement concerns.
- Marine Life Surveys: You may see community member Jan K posting about this site, but he has special permission from the harbormaster to conduct official marine life surveys.
Years ago, this location served as a fantastic, reliable backup site if you got blown out by rough conditions at Keystone .
⚠️ Before diving at Langley Harbor, always check the site-specific wind/wave forecast, tide/currents, and recent reports (latest: Jun 8, 2026) !
