Dive report for 7/10/26

- Visibility
- A clear 15 feet, 5-10 feet in the shallows
Two very fun dives among the vibrant kelp! Dove during the late flood and had very little current to deal with as we hit slack and then the small exchange after.
Tons of bull kelp, Woody kelp, and lots of understory species making a riot underneath.
2nd dive had a huge Stellar Sea Lion following us around! Very active and curious, got a bit touchy sometimes and pulled on fins/mouthed my buddy's head a bit. Still very amazing to see it about!
Dive report for 5/23/26

- Visibility
- A hazy 15 feet, <5 feet in the shallows (high tide)
Reef Check survey training dive. Pretty good conditions once we swam out ~100 yards. Pretty calm current from 8am-2pm, though the long swims back were a bit of a chore at times.
Tons of understory kelp, woody kelp, and a good amount of young bull kelp about. Several bunches of feather boa kelp reaching up to the surface near the big rocks.

We've started taking scooters to the area (makes the journey more fun). Current predictions are still sketchy for us, but so far diving from North Beach at the end of a flood and returning on an ebb is kinda working. Do you have any suggestions for timing the currents?
