Visibility history
Reports starting from 1 year ago
Dive report for 8/30/25
- Visibility
- A hazy 10-15 feet, <5 feet in the shallows (outgoing tide)
Visibility was poor in less that 15fsw, improving at depth. Lots of kelp growing due to the summer sunlight. Red Rock Crabs abound, even a few Dungeness... Sea Stars have made a remarkable recovery with a half dozen varieties visible.
Water temp approx 50F.
A nice summer dive.
Dive report for 9/1/25
- Visibility
- A clear 15-20 feet, <5 feet in the shallows (incoming tide)
Visibility at depth was much better today, but the shallows are still poor. Even during a sunny day I could barely see 5ft above 20fsw.
Noticed numerous sea stars - they appear to be making a comeback.
Schools of small perch as well as a school of Bay Pipefish.
The summer sun has allowed the phytoplankton and kelp to grow prolifically. The bottom is almost completely covered with brown kelp.
Dive report for 6/13/26
- Visibility
- A hazy <5 feet (incoming tide)
I hope that Summer viz hasn't arrived already, but it was pretty poor today. Red Rock crabs are everywhere! along with the kelp on the bottom.
Only made it to 40fsw, but the visibility didn't clear up. Not certain where/if it improves.
Dive report for 7/3/26
- Visibility
- A hazy 5 feet (outgoing tide)
Saw a nice school of Bay Pipefish (approx 50).
