pnwdivingVisibility: A hazy 20+ feet, 5 feet in the shallows (high tide)
NIght dive - the bottom was covered with a carpet of Spot Prawns. Lots of small swimming invertebrates were attracted to our dive lights. Stubby Squid, Red Octopus, Squat Lobster. Sailfin Sculpin (approx 8" long). Visibility below 25fsw wast 20+ ft. A fantastic dive.

Visibility at depth was much better today, but the shallows are still poor. Even during a sunny day I could barely see 5ft above 20fsw. Noticed numerous sea stars - they appear to be making a comeback. Schools of small perch as well as a school of Bay Pipefish. The summer sun has allowed the phytoplankton and kelp to grow prolifically. The bottom is almost completely covered with brown kelp.
