Visibility: A hazy 5-10 feet, 5 feet in the shallows (incoming tide)
Reef Check training dives at Rosario Beach this weekend. Viz was ok earlier in the morning at slack low tide, but as the day went on and the tide came in viz dropped and dropped until it was just 3-5 ft at the worst. Lots of surge on the North and South sides of Rosario Head. No persistent current developed, but had to actively time your motions with the surge in order to make progress. Tons and TONS of understory kelp with all kinds of critters hiding in it. CA Cucumbers, Orange Burrowing Cucs, various crabs, a few rock scallops, urchins, gumboot chitons etc. On the south side of RH there was some bull kelp, nothing had reached the surface yet but maybe this summer it will form a small canopy area.

Another murky dive at Rosario, but it was a nice day above water. Tons of orange sea cucumbers out feeding. I spent most of the dive over on the rocks at the S end. Highlights were a couple of white berthellas, one green urchin, one red urchin, a striped nudibranch, and one large great sculpin near the safety stop.
