Edmonds Underwater Park stands as a testament to decades of volunteer work led by Bruce Higgins and his team of volunteers. The site is a huge, sprawling underwater city of sunken wrecks and man-made reefs, all in less than 30 feet of water. Unfortunately, the lingcod and cabezon populations seem to have crashed here in recent years; let us know if you see otherwise!

NAVIGATION & SAFETY:

+ ROPE TRAILS: A grid of underwater ropes makes it easier to navigate between structures like the Cathedral or the Tug Warrior. Laminated maps are available at nearby Edmonds Underwater Sports and are recommended for new visitors.

+ FERRY TERMINAL: Stay 100% alert to your position and never stray south of the southernmost rope. It is critical to maintain a wide berth from the Edmonds/Kingston ferry lanes.

+ THE SWIM: Reaching the reef can be a long swim. Many divers find it helpful to rest at one of the surface buoys before descending, while others find it easier to swim the distance underwater.

+ WEATHER: Avoid diving this site on windy days.

+ GAS MANAGEMENT: Always manage your gas to ensure you have plenty for the long return swim to the beach.

REGULATIONS:

+ NO-TAKE ZONE: This is a strict sanctuary. Do not harvest or disturb life.

+ NO SCOOTERS: The use of DPVs (scooters) is prohibited within the park.
